Huckleberry Finn Chapters 25-33 Summary

Ch.25- The king and the Duke arrive at peters house and pretned as if they are sad over there brothers death. The people greet them with open arms and wants them to saty for diner. Some of peter wilks friends also come to help them with the ashes. the king reads the letter out loud as it explains house the house will be divided up. 3000$ and the house goes to the girls. Peters brother gets his buisness, land worth 7000$ and 3000$ in gold. It also explains where the 6000$ in cash is hidden in the house. The Kind and Duke get the money and go to give it to the girls. this makes the people think they are good people as every one hugs and kisses them. The docter hears the king voice and says his accent is deriable and suggest that heas a froad, but no one believes him.
Ch.26- Mary Jane gives them a room to sleep in. Everybody eats dinner. In the kitchen Huck and Joanna(Hair Lip) talk. She makes Huck swear On a dictionary not to tell a lie. Mary Jane makes Joanna feel bad for telling Huck. She apologizes to Huck. Huck starts to feel guilty because he knows there money is being stolen by two liars. Huck decides to help them by stealing the money for himself and hiding it in the house. Later on he will send Mary Jane a note explain where the money is and who they were. Huck looks for the money but cant find it so he decided to ease drop on there conversation, to find out where the money was. Huck hides behinds Mary Jane frocks as he listens to The king and The Dukes conversation. The king and Duke decides to wait to get the rest of the money, so they decides to hide the money.  They move it to the straw tick under the bed.  When Duck and king leaves Huck gets the money and wants to hide the money outside the house because he knows when they find the money missing there going to freak out. He waits till late at night and sneaks out of his cubby.
Ch.27- Huck sneaks down stairs and sees the coffin. He hears someone coming so he quickly puts the money in the coffin. It was Mary Jane crying softly, so Huck makes his way back to bed. He feels bad about where he put the money. People come to the house next morning for the funeral. Peter is buried with the money. Huck doesn't know if the money is still in the coffin..
The king says he must return to the church and offer the girls to go with him. The king sells some of the property and some slaves. The Girls start to cry because they are being separated from each other and there children. King asks Huck has he been in his room, Huck lies and says the slaves were in there.Huck doesn't feel bad about blaming the slaves because there are all gone now.
Ch.28- Huck sees Mary Jane crying about the slaves , so he decides to tell the truth about everything. He makes her promise to spend the night at Mr. Lothrops house because her face expression might give it away and it might ruin the plan. Huck tells her to put a candle buy the window. If Huck doesn't come then he made it away safe but if he comes then they have to tell them that the king and duck are fakes and she must stand by him when he tells them. He tells her to show a piece of paper that says  "Royal Nonesuch-Bricksville"  and they will recognize that they are frauds.  Huck tells her that he hid the money but docent want to say were.  He writes it down on a piece of paper and tells her not to open it until she reaches Mr. Lothrops house. they say by and Huck leaves. Huck makes up a story of why Mary Jane is leaving. At the auction they sell everything and a steamboat lands and a crowd of people get off and yell about the king and the Duke.
Ch.29- The real brothers of peter get off the boat and approach the king and duke.They explain there misfortune and when there luggage gets there they can prove they are the real brother of peter. The king says they are frauds but people in the crowds start to wonder. One guy comes out and say they saw Huck and the king and duke arrive from a canoe. People get curios so they go the hotel to figure out who is real. They question the king and Huck. The doctor says if they were really the brother of peter then they would give him the money fro safe keeping but the king tells him they don't have it. The king say the slaves stole it but then a lawyer names Levi Bell asks to see everyone hand writing and he could tell if they were fakes. The real brother asks if they new what was tattooed on peter chest. The king says a arrow but the other mans says it was P-B-W. The lawyer decides to dig peter up to see if it was there and if no marks were there they all get lynched including Huck. They all go to the graveyard. When they dig up the grave they find the money in the coffin. Everyone is stunned and Huck then takes off down the road for his life. He fines a canoes and tells Jim to hurry and set the raft. Huck forgets that Jim is dressed as a Arab. He is glad to know he got rid of the King and Duke but when he looks behind him he sees them paddling towards them.
Ch.30- The king is mad at Huck because he left him and the duke behind, Huck denies this and he says he thought they were already dead so he ran away the first chance he got. The king and Duke argue over who put the money there. The king admits even know Huck did it. The king and Duke get drunk and Huck takes this time to tell Jim everything.
Ch.31- The travel south down the river. The king and Duke start to plan more schemes so Huck decides as soon as they dock they are going to get rid of them so they will be free. The king tells Huck and the Duck to meet up with him. Huck sees the king acting drunk, so he runs back to the raft and yells for Jim. Jim's not there to his surprise. Huck walks down a road and runs into a boy who tells him some people caught a runaways slave down at Silas Phelps house. Huck figures out they sold Jim for 40 dollars. Huck doesn't know what to do so he decides to write a letter to miss Watson but after he writes it he tears it up. Huck goes to a little island hides the raft and goes to sleep. Next morning he puts on some good cloths and paddles over to Phelps farm. As he \s in town he runs into the Duke putting up a Nonesuch hand bill. Huck lies about where the Duke is and tells him he sold Jim for 40 Dollars. Huck cries that he cant find him. The duke was about to tell him the truth but lies anyways. The duke thinks the lie will keep Huck busy and out of there hair for awhile. Huck pretends as if he is going there and then about a mile down the road he turns around and makes his way to the farm. Now he can work out his plan to rescue Jim.
Ch.32- Huck approaches the farm and dogs come braking at him. A lady telling them to get away and thinks the Huck is actually Tom sawyer. She is actually Toms aunt Sally and she has been waiting for Tom to arrive. She tells Huck her husband went to get him at the boat but she sees him coming down the road. She wants to surprise him so she tells Huck to get under the bed. Her husband tells her that the boat hasn't came yet and then she pulls Huck out of the corner. Her husband asks who it is and she says its tome sawyer. Huck is happy that he has to impersonate tom. Huck tells them the boat came over a blue cylinder head and that he was 3 days late. He hears the steam boat and says he is going to get his luggage to catch Tom before he gets off the boat.
Ch.33- Huck runs into Tom on the road and tells him everything. at first Tom think Huck is a ghost because everyone thinks Huck is dead. Tom wants to help Huck get Jim back to his surprise. Huck comes up with a quick plan and grabs toms luggage. Toms is going to show up a little while later. Huck goes back to the house. Tom Shows up and he says he is at the wrong house but they want him to stay for diner. At diner he says he is actually Tom sawyers brother Sid sawyer. Everybody is happy to see him and hug and kiss him. Huck and tom sneak out of the house at night to find the whereabouts of Jim. They go into town to see how the show is going and see the King and Duck tarted and feathered.
